Date Night: Bookstore Scavenger Hunt

Date Night: Bookstore Scavenger Hunt

Pearson and I love our books. Just the other day I realized that I may have a problem with collecting books. I don’t usually like to spend a lot of money on clothes, shoes, purses, or other things I don’t need. But I’ve noticed that this mentality goes out the window when it comes to books and I buy them a lot faster than I read them. I would like to pin part of the blame on an awesome store in the Columbus area called Half Price Books. This store has paper backs for as low as $2!! We’ve collected so many books that we’re running out of space to put them.

Anyway, all this to say that when I saw Megan’s Bookstore Scavenger Hunt, I knew we had to do it as a date night! I took some of Megan’s ideas and tweaked them. I added to her suggested items and created a document to use. You can access that document here if you want!

UPDATE: I also included this as one of the dates in my eBook, Scavenger Hunt Date Nights.

Last week, I mentioned this date night idea to Pearson and he was actually pretty excited about it which motivated me to make it great! So we spent some time brainstorming and writing down ideas for items. Then on Friday, we went to eat at Chick-Fil-A and then headed to Half Price Books! We got there a little after 8:00. The store closed at 10:00 so we decided to allow the competition to last until 9:30. Around 9:30 we reconvened and went over our answers. He whooped me! As a prize, he got to spend $10 at the bookstore.

It was a fantastic date! Competition is always fun and this one involved something we both really enjoy: books! The only problem is that thanks to this date, I have found a lot more books to add to my “to read” list. I am never going to catch up!

Have you ever done anything like this? Do you think it might be something you and your husband would enjoy?
Thanks for reading!
