Thankful Thursday: Music

Thankful Thursday: Music

Today for Thankful Thursday I am thankful for…

Music
Music has always been a big part of my life. I love to sing and play. It makes me happy. I have always loved musicals, even when I was young and couldn’t appreciate them the way I do now. But not only do I love being involved in music, I also love just listening.
Music is healing. It can be a mood changer. I have go-to artists or genres for almost every situation in life. When I am sad, I listen to Five Times August. When I need to concentrate on work or a project of some sort, I go to my classical Pandora station. When I need to get motivated, I usually listen to Disney.
Just the other day I had worked all day and then had errands to run after work. I got home and the kitchen was already a mess plus I had groceries to put away. I was tired and just did not want to do anything. I sat on the couch with Pip for a while until I finally made myself get up and get busy in the kitchen. I decided to play a little music from Songza on my phone. [If you don’t use Songza, you totally should. It has tons of playlists based on the day and time and whatever activity you are doing. You can also save playlists to quickly find and play later]. I clicked the ‘cooking’ category and one of the options under Country Music was ‘Cowgirl Kiss-offs.’ Let me just say, cleaning the kitchen was no longer a chore. I was singing, dancing, air-guitar playing, and totally rocking out. Those groceries were put away and dishes were cleaned in no time! And, I even swept and mopped the floor! I know, right? Crazy!
So today I am thankful for music. For the way it can change my mode and make any situation better.
Thanks for reading!

Oh and P.S. I created a new Facebook page for the blog so be sure to like it!

I'm a millennial wife and fur-mom living in Oregon. I'm passionate about marriages and making them last. I believe it's possible to build a marriage that will endure whatever comes your way and all it takes is a little work. And trust me, your marriage is so worth that effort!
