Thankful Thursday and 100th Post!

Since this is my 100th blog post, I thought it would be appropriate to express today for Thankful Thursday that I am thankful for…
Blogging
I started this blog in July of last year as a means of telling my friends and family back home about what goes on in mine and Pearson’s lives. Two weeks after we got married, we moved to Ohio. Having both grown up in Georgia and gone to college in Arkansas, this was a big change for us. Not only were we moving to the great white north where it snows all the time, country music doesn’t exist, and people are rude [read: this is what we thought before moving here. It is not true at all. Well, the snow part is], we were moving 500+ miles away from everyone we knew. EVERYONE. Thus, Bisons to Buckeyes was born.
[I’d like to take a moment here to tell anyone who doesn’t know that the Harding University mascot is indeed the Bisons. With an ‘s’. Yes I know this is incorrect grammar, but it’s the school’s official plural form so I use it that way in the name of my blog]
Since then, my blog has become so much more…

It has become a hobby: I don’t play sports anymore, I am not as crafty as I would like to be, I don’t have my ChiO’s activities and responsibilities any more, and I don’t even have homework to work on after work/school hours. Yet somehow, I am still busy as a bee, but that’s a story for another time. The point is, blogging is my new hobby. When Pearson is at work or working on home work, I blog. It is my outlet in which to pour my time, energy, and emotions. And I love it! I am thankful for this hobby.

It has also become a community: I have met so many wonderful women through blogging. I love commenting and starting conversations. I love tweeting at other bloggers. I love watching their lives through their blogs. There is just something about having a friendship with someone who loves this hobby too. I love reading what other’s have to say about marriage because I can relate. I love reading what other’s have to say about motherhood because I look forward to that in the future. I love getting inspiration from fashion and craft bloggers. I love reading what others have to say about military life or living with an illness because otherwise, I would have no idea what they have to deal with daily. I love encouraging other women through their blogs and through mine. I am thankful for this community.

Since this is my 100th post, lets’s take a walk through memory lane, shall we?

  • My very first post ever was about our honey moon. It was so perfect, I felt I had to share with the world!
Towards the beginning, all I blogged about was our life, recapping trips and events for my family. Bisons to Buckeyes has grown more toward a community with linkups and deeper posts. I am happy with the direction this blog is going and can’t wait to see how much it grows and matures in the future.
Thanks so much for reading this post and all you have read in the past. I hope some of my 100 posts have been encouraging to you and I hope you will stay with me in the future. I love you, my readers, and am so thankful for you as well!
I'm a millennial wife and fur-mom living in Oregon. I'm passionate about marriages and making them last. I believe it's possible to build a marriage that will endure whatever comes your way and all it takes is a little work. And trust me, your marriage is so worth that effort!
