Motivation to be Intentional

Motivation to be Intentional

Today I want to talk about motivation. I lack it often. I think a lot of people lack motivation. We lack motivation to get work done, to work on our relationships, to exercise and get into shape, to spend time with God, and much more I’m sure.
Lately, I feel like I have no motivation for anything. I basically quit reading The Love Dare a couple weeks ago. I can’t make myself write any blog posts. I am even in a rut at work.
Last night, while sitting on the couch in my pajamas having not changed out of them all day, I decided I wanted to change all that. I hate feeling like I am not doing anything and just wasting away. So that will be my motivation to be more intentional in my life. I know this isn’t the first day of the year or month, or even the week, but starting today I am going get out of this rut.
So here are my goals starting today and lasting into the foreseeable future:
  • Read a chapter out of the Bible every day. I believe I will start with Proverbs.
  • Rinse all dishes and put them in the dish washer as soon as we use them. No more letting them pile up.
  • Pray every night with Pearson whether we go to bed at the same time or not.
  • Have a designated weekly date night.
  • Set aside time for blogging every week and try not to spend too much time over that allotment.
  • Cook diner at home as much as possible. And try to be healthier about it.
  • Exercise every weekday, doing cardio and Pilates switching every day.

Hopefully being intentional about these things will help me get back into the swing of my life. I am so blessed with the life I have been given and I don’t want to waste it.

Have you ever gotten into a rut and been unmotivated to do much of anything?
How do you combat it?
