I Knew I had Nothing to Worry About {December Marriage Goals}

Last week for marriage goals I talked about putting the emphasis of these posts back on my relationship with my husband (if you missed it, click HERE). Also, with it being the Christmas season, these goals are centered on the holidays for the most part as well.

As I have said before, I will be leaving for work the week before Christmas and won’t be returning home till after Christmas with Pearson, so I really only have 2 weeks to enjoy the season at home (which is now down to a few days). But I have to say, I really feel better about it! All of our Christmas cards are finished and in the mail! We went to the Wild Lights at the Columbus Zoo and have enjoyed holiday shopping and Christmas movies. I knew I had nothing to worry about!

Alright, lets see how I’m doing on this month’s goals so far…

  1. Put away technology as much as possible. Um not so much… I honestly forgot that I had reinstated this goal until I sat down to write this post. Oops. I have fallen back into the habit of always checking my phone and scrolling through social media while hanging at home with the hubby. Shame on me.
  2. Don’t get stressed or frustrated and take it out on Pearson. I think I have done pretty well on this one. I don’t recall a time this week that I felt frustrated and took it out on him.
  3. Pray with Pearson every night before bed. This one was a success as well. I think we may have skipped one day, but we have been a lot better about it than ever before.
  4. Spend some quality time together every day enjoying the Christmas season. And success! Last Tuesday (after I made this goal) we saw the Christmas lights at the zoo with a group from Church. Wednesday we finished decorating the apartment. Thursday we wrapped presents while watching The Sound of Music Live (Carrie Underwood did an amazing job, by the way). Friday we worked on Christmas cards while we caught up on our TV shows. Saturday we went to a Christmas party for the college and young adults group at church. Sunday we watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (after ONCE, of course). And last night we watched Santa Clause is Coming to Town on ABC.

It has been a great week! I love this time of year and I am intentionally enjoying every minute of it that I can. I hope you are all enjoying it as much as I am!
How are you doing on your goals? And what fun things have you done this Holiday season so far?
