Wedding Series: The Ceremony

Wedding Series: The Ceremony

Hey lovely readers! I’m continuing our wedding series today. Part 3 is all about the ceremony. Here is part 1 and here’s part 2 if you missed them.
First of all I want to say that my wedding ceremony pretty much went off without a hitch. My flower girls behaved. The music all worked out. Nobody tripped. Everything was great! Of course, it would have been a-ok even if any of these things did happen, but I am still grateful for how smoothly everything went.
My wonderful dad walked me down the aisle and gave me away.
When we got to the front of the church, we had a “family prayer.” Pearson and I stood in a circle holding hands with my dad, the preacher, my maid of honor, and Pearson’s best man. My dad said a wonderful prayer.

Pearson and I sang a duet of “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. We also wrote our own vows and Pearson sorta messed his up. [Ok so there was one mistake in the ceremony]. He stumbled over some words and finally stopped and said “Oh whatever!” Everyone got a good laugh.

THE kiss! // So excited to finally be husband and wife
After it was all said and done, the wedding party danced up the aisle to “This Will Be (an Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole
And when we got out of the auditorium, there was some more celebrating before we made our way to the reception.
Our wedding party was so fun! Have I mentioned that before? I can’t imagine my life without a single one of them in it.
How did your ceremony go? Any disasters or small hiccups?
Thanks for reading and be sure to check in next Friday for part 4: The Reception!
