Wonderful Weekend

Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend, Pearson and I went on a little road trip. We left Friday after work and drove all the way to Knoxville. We stayed the night there then Saturday morning we drove to Helen to see some good friends get married. It was a beautiful ceremony for the start of a beautiful life! We love you, Andrew and Deanna, and are so glad we got to be a part of your big day.

After the wedding, Pearson and I headed to his parents house for the night. We got to meet their puppy, Colbie for the first time, had dinner, watched a bunch of football (we won’t go into details, this part of the weekend was very disappointing) and enjoyed some family time. Sunday morning we went to church at Buford for the first time in over 2 months and had lunch with both of our families (this includes my grandparents and aunt, uncle and cousins). We were a wild bunch and I bet Arby’s was happy to see us leave. Then, after picking up a few things from my parents’ house, Pearson and I hit the road for what would be a long 11 hour (we hit construction) drive home. We got home at 12:30 and fell into bed. I think I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. It was a long exhausting weekend but totally worth it. We figured out that we spent 24 hours in Georgia (including 1 hour of driving from Helen to Dacula and about 8 hours of sleep) and about 23 hours on the road…
Anyway, all this to say: Isn’t family great? I mean seriously. I got to see my in-laws, my parents, my brother, my grandparents, one aunt, one uncle, some of my cousins, and my church family all in one weekend. I missed them all and seeing them was so uplifting. They were so excited to see us and took care of us for the weekend. They had only compliments to voice. Isn’t it great to know you are loved? I feel truly blessed to have such a great family all around. It is tough being away from them but coming home is so great. It is a refresher. We needed it. As I said, totally worth taking a weekend road trip.
As always, thanks for reading!
