Today I’m joining Brooke of Silver Lining for How We Wore It. I am so honored to be a part of this monthly series! Every month, Brooke sends out an outfit picture for inspiration, and 25 bloggers recreate the look with whatever they already have in their closet.
I’m a little late to the party and that’s because, somehow, I deleted the email from Brooke and didn’t know I was one of the 25 bloggers this month until yesterday. When I saw Brooklyn’s post and saw my name at the bottom, I realized I was supposed to be part of it. So I took some outfit pictures yesterday evening and here we are. This also explains why, I talked about taking a blogging break on Tuesday and yet, here is another post only 2 days later…
EDIT: I changed the date and time of this post and Tuesday’s post so the post where I talked about a blogging break would be on top.
Anyway, if you’re interested in this collaboration, head over to Brooke’s blog to sign up. But remember, space is limited!

So here is the inspiration Brooke gave us this month…

Here’s how I wore it… (Sorry for the dark pictures. I may re-take these later)
Flannel: Goodwill || Dress: Old Navy in the spring (similar) || Tights: Old Navy || Boots: Gifted |
Leggings: Marshalls |
I decided to swap out my black tights for some fun holiday leggings to make the look a little more casual and balance the flannel. Also, I love these and I feel like I can only wear them in December so I might as well wear them as much as possible, right? Also, how crazy is it that I was okay wearing no sleeves on December 9th in Ohio??
T-Shirt: OLD || Boots: Target OLD |
I did try it with a black cardigan though.
I also tried it with my black skinny jeans because this is closer to how I would normally wear the flannel. Honestly though, these jeans are probably tighter than the leggings. I like having one side tucked in though.
As for the details, I’ve been living in this necklace all winter. It’s just so simple and dainty and I really like the bare branch that matches the winter trees. And I love these ginger bread man earrings. They are festive without being too over the top. I’ve been wearing them a lot this month too!
So that’s how I wore it… Last night on my back patio in the dark… Several different ways because I couldn’t decide what I wanted…
And here are all the other ladies who participated this month…
